Shared Offices in Sacramento: A decentralized model for getting things done
By Jeff Louie of Capsity Offices
Office space does not have to be finite. This is what we’re learning from our experience of opening up a 2nd location for Capsity Offices as well as from creating strategic partnerships with commercial real estate owners, and of course other coworking locations. So what if we as Sacramento entrepreneurs could truly be nomadic and experience more than just what’s in our current circle? I believe that we would realize some really amazing benefits: 1.) Diversified collaboration 2.) Healthy conflict 3.) Exchange of endless knowledge 4.) Abundant levels of positive energy mixed with real situations 5.) Increased social networking opportunities 6.) More robust referral systems and trade partners 7.) Hope that we can indeed find a solution to economic and legal issues I don’t think these are necessarily new concepts and I believe we’re pretty close to achieving all of them. With today’s communication technology combined with our current recession AND a sprinkle of motivation to make change the next few steps should not be too much harder. I hope that more office space and building owners in Sacramento realize that they have great office and work spaces available and by opening up their spaces for communities and groups of people to work, there’s a very good chance that a business will arise from the benefits listed above. Maybe then the owner can write into the lease that as soon as the group forms a business they are contracted to begin renting there. That idea will probably never happen for some random liability reason (that’s how it always works!), but maybe it’s a start to something. Here’s to hoping that we as Sacramento Entrepreneurs can continue to leverage so many empty offices! It’s a playground out there; let’s go have some serious play! |
